Prior to joining Foundation, Lindsay Macadam spent 5 years at Insight Film Studios, Canada’s largest independent production company, where she quickly rose to Head of Feature Films and Television, overseeing all scripted productions for the company. While at Insight, Macadam helped build the organization from inception as production revenues grew exponentially from $20M to over $150M in 2007. This unprecedented growth resulted in Macadam producing an average of 20 films per year, establishing her as one of Canada’s most prolific producers. Proving adept at balancing the challenging demands on operational logistics and resource allocation Macadam is a highly capable entertainment executive.
Macadam’s extremely broad and deep knowledge of the creative, operational, and financial aspects of film making, makes her an unusual executive in the film industry, where these abilities are generally confined to distinct silos. This unique skill set, allowed Macadam to help put together over US$400M in financing for feature films and television over the past 6 years, including the production and financing of more than 70 Movies of the Week (MOWs), 10 Feature Films, and 3 TV series.
With an in depth understanding of international co-production and foreign incentives, Macadam has produced film and television productions from Hungry to Australia, seeking to maximize production values. She maintains an excellent reputation with banks, funding agencies, distributors, broadcasters, and completion bonders. Macadam brings added value to projects with her years of experience and extensive technical knowledge of all phases of motion picture management including script development, financing, pre-production through to post, and final elements including the sale and revenue collection of completed films.
Macadam was a producer on the critically acclaimed independent feature film “Battle and Seattle” starring Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, Ray Liotta, and directed by Stuart Townsend. The film premiered at TIFF 2007 and was acquired in one of the largest deals of the festival.
Other notable feature films produced by Macadam include, “Personal Effects” (Michelle Pfeiffer, Ashton Kutcher), “When a Man Falls” (Sharon Stone, Dylan Baker), “Numb” (Matthew Perry).
During her tenure in the entertainment industry, Macadam has developed valuable working relationships with all of the tier one Canadian distributors as well as many US broadcasters, studios and talent agencies.
Prior to joining Insight, Macadam spent 4 years at HSBC in asset management and commercial banking. She was responsible for closing nearly $100 million in loan growth, specializing in large scale single family home residential and commercial real estate development.
