Michael Potkins graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of British Columbia. He began his film career as a production accountant for Keystone Entertainment, obtaining considerable experience in all aspects of production and finance.

Based in Los Angeles, he was previously employed as the Head of Production for Infinity Features. During his seven years there he worked with several highly acclaimed, successful film makers, and was the Production Executive on such films as the Academy-Award-winning Capote (Sony), and the commercially successful Just Friends (New Line Cinema), Saved! (MGM), Confidence (Lionsgate), and Frailty (Lionsgate).

Potkins posseses an extensive background in film production having held positions as Line Producer and Production Manager on a multitude of feature, television and cable films. Most recently, Potkins was the Line Producer on the psychological thriller, Butterfly on a Wheel (Icon) starring Pierce Brosnan, Maria Bello and Gerard Butler. He was also instrumental in the film’s development, financing and physical production.
